Zoobug is an award-winning brand of high quality hand-made sunglasses and frames made just for children. Based in the city of London the company’s philosophy is firmly rooted in the founder’s passion for raising public awareness and industry standards for improving children’s eye health.

Dr Julie Diem Le, an eye surgeon by profession, founded Zoobug in 2006 because she saw a need for good quality, well fitting sunglasses with proper UV protective lenses after she failed to find any for her own niece.  Up till then nobody in the UK was doing this so Zoobug became the first company set up to specialise exclusively on producing the very best frames just for children.

  ‘Children’s eyes are delicate, their sight is still developing and so need greater care and protection from UV light than adults.  Sadly, this message is not well known and so children are still walking around with inadequate eye protection even though their parents are fully covered up.  We are great at protecting their skin and now just need to remember their eyes.’

Shortly after Zoobug released their My First Zoobug sunglasses collection for 3-5 year olds, they were nominated and won the prestigious optical industry award  - the SILMO d’OR. A year later a second nomination was awarded, this time for an optical frame design.  This most coveted international accolade positioned Zoobug as the leading name in children’s eyewear.  The travel retail industry also started to recognise the important health message behind Zoobug products and awarded the brand Best New Product 2009 in the Duty Free News International ‘Product of the Year’ awards as well as Winner of The Frontier Magazine Buy’s Forum Awards 2010.

The Zoobug collections are now distributed in more than 21 countries worldwide, available at leading opticians, department stores including prestigious London retailer Harrods, Selfridges and major UK and international airports and ferries
